The first of the two movements is a gentle Minuet, tranquil and serene. Not technically difficult, the Minuet has an almost hypnotic quality and requires the flutist to play with a beautiful tone throughout the full range of the instrument. The second movement is a playful Scherzo. Alternating between 4/4 and 6/8, this lively movement is quick and somewhat mischievous, demanding rhythmic precision from both flutist and pianist.
